FileGnome Hosting Agreement
When you purchase web hosting or related services, your website or application may be hosted on shared servers where resources are allocated among multiple users. Each customer receives a unique address (DNS) and a fair portion of server resources.
You agree not to use FileGnome servers as a source, intermediary, or destination for mail bombs, denial-of-service attacks, or any other abusive activity. Server hacking, unauthorized access attempts, or use of FileGnome services as an anonymous gateway are strictly prohibited.
FileGnome reserves the right to temporarily or permanently remove any website or account that violates this policy or threatens network stability. This includes removing all associated accounts under your ownership if one is found to be in breach.
Additionally, you agree not to:
Disseminate or transmit material that may be deemed offensive, vulgar, or malicious.
Mislead others about the identity, source, or origin of any communication.
Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to access systems or accounts without proper authorization.
Engage in any activity that conflicts with the intent or spirit of this policy or other FileGnome agreements.
Use FileGnome services as an "open relay" or for similar purposes.
Data and Security Responsibilities
You are solely responsible for:
Preventing any loss or damage to your website or hosted data.
Maintaining independent backups of all data stored or transferred through FileGnome.
Ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and security of all content and personal information you handle.
FileGnome servers are not intended as permanent archives. FileGnome assumes no liability for data loss, corruption, or accidental deletion.
Our hosting services are not PCI-DSS or HIPAA compliant, and must not be used to store or process sensitive payment or health-related data.
You may not use your hosting plan as a general file storage or backup service. Accounts exceeding 10 GB of storage may receive a usage warning and must then reduce data volume. FileGnome reserves the right to temporarily suspend disk write functionality if this limit is exceeded.
In cases of suspected compromise or abuse, FileGnome reserves the right to conduct a forensic investigation to maintain network integrity and security.
Data Control and Access
You remain the data controller for any personal data processed or stored using FileGnome services. FileGnome acts solely as a service provider and accepts no liability for your handling of personal or sensitive data.
As part of our managed hosting and operational procedures, FileGnome may access hosted systems or data only when necessary for maintenance, troubleshooting, security, or other purposes outlined in this Agreement and our Terms of Service.
Domain Ownership
You can choose to host domains with FileGnome. We will register these domains for you, and charge you a yearly fee which will be agreed upon by both parties before registration.
You have the right to transfer any domain hosted in FileGnome managed hosting to another registrar, if all outstanding balances related to this domain are paid. Simply contact our support team to initiate a transfer. Please note domains may be transfer locked for the first 6 months after purchase or following a previous transfer as per ICANN regulations.
In the event that FileGnome terminates its service, or your membership, we will provide you with three months from the day you are notified of this change to request a transfer. If a transfer is not completed within three months or you do not respond to our notification within this time frame, the domain will expire at its next regular expiration date and then become available for purchase on the general market.
